An unemployed teacher committed suicide by hanging himself in a pit latrine due to pressure after failing to get money to repair his aunt’s car, following an accident.
Mduduzi Sithole (36) of Maliyaduma graduated from Ngwane Teacher’s Training College, in Nhlangano, back in 2020.
Ever since he left college, Sithole has not been able to get a job.
Relatives disclosed that he took his own life on Saturday due to stress related to unemployment, which was further compounded by the unfortunate incident on New Year’s Day where he got his aunt’s motor vehicle into an accident.
He reportedly crashed into another vehicle, and since the day of the crash his aunt had been demanding money for repairs.
A friend said prior to taking the decision, the college graduate had been moving from pillar to post, trying to raise the E3 000 needed for the repairs.
The deceased’s elder sister said her brother’s death had left the family shattered.
“I am on my way home for the funeral. There is nothing much I can say for now. We were all devastated by the death,” she said.

The deceased’s 76-year-old uncle reported that he discovered his nephew’s unresponsive body hanging from the roof of a pit latrine at home on Saturday just after 3pm.
He was rushed to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead by a medical practitioner.
The tragic incident was reported at the Manzini police station.
Deputy Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Assistant Superintendent Nosipho Mnguni confirmed the incident.
A funeral date has already been set by the bereaved family.
He is scheduled to be buried this Saturday morning at his parental homestead, which is located around Mdabula area, outside Hlatikulu.
The deceased’s death adds to the ever-rising statistics of suicide in the kingdom.
Another recent reported suicide took place at Lusoti village, located around Simunye.
An employee of Eswatini Sugar was left in shock after he discovered the body of his colleague and friend lying dead inside his house.
The victim was in his 20s and the incident was reported to the police.
The young man is believed to have ingested a pesticide to end his life.
It remains unclear what may have resulted in the man taking his own life.
Preliminary investigations and an examination of his body concluded that the victim died of suicide. There were no visible injuries to his body and no foul play was suspected.
