Two artists, Celumusa Mkhaliphi and Zinia, are being supported through the Music Library Concerts, an initiative by Mateo Bambi in collaboration with the US Embassy.

The series drew over 1 200 views on YouTube. It now returns with its second episode featuring Mbali Gamedze, popularly known as Zinia. Known for her dynamic vocals and versatility across genres, Zinia is expected to bring a fresh sound that blends R&B, neo-soul and jazz into the intimate showcase.

Speaking about the vision of the initiative, Mateo Bambi Director Sisekelo Sibandze said the concerts were designed to do more than entertain.

“We wanted to create a platform that goes beyond just entertainment. The Music Library Concerts are about documenting Eswatini’s music history in real time, giving artists a high-quality record of their performances and connecting them with audiences they may never reach otherwise,” he said.

He explained that the project provides artists with professional recordings for bookings, an international digital archive of their performances and exposure to wider audiences. Sibandze added that the concerts allow musicians to experiment and present their artistry in its purest form.

Episode 2 spotlights Zinia, who first gained recognition on the MTN Spotlight and has since built a strong following with over 450 000 YouTube views.

Her hit collaboration Love Back with Phila Koshin earned a Metro FM Awards nomination and extensive radio and television play, cementing her place in the house and Afro-house scene.

Zinia has also performed at prestigious events such as the MTN Bushfire Festival, MTN PLE Awards and the Standard Bank Luju Festival. Now she is carving out new creative directions by fusing R&B with jazz, which she describes as a natural evolution of her sound.

Reflecting on the project, Zinia said working with the Music Library has given her valuable exposure.

“It is really great working with Mateo Music Library as I got the chance to showcase my skills as a singer, and they truly appreciated me. Working with them has helped expose my music,” she said.

She added that she looks forward to future collaborations.

“I am really looking forward to working with Music Library, and there are upcoming projects I am busy with,” she said.
