The current Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) building in Mbabane will house the Judiciary and the Supreme Court of Eswatini after the CBE relocates to its new offices. The bank will move from Mbabane to the CBE Head Office in Ezulwini by the end of 2025.
The governor, executive members, and some departments have already moved to Ezulwini. This was revealed by CBE Governor, Dr. Phil Mnisi, during a press conference held at the head office yesterday.
He said the Supreme Court and the Judiciary were under extreme pressure in terms of office space. He noted that as a Central Bank, they were strong on cost and efficiency.
“Therefore, to stay in a building which is big and has high maintenance costs did not align with being prudent on costs,” he said.

As part of their strategic alignment and cost efficiency, he explained that it made sense to exit the Mbabane building when they have an existing infrastructure in Ezulwini. He noted that being on site under construction was convenient, and that all necessary precautions and security measures were to be put in place to protect staff from the noise and risks pertaining to a site under construction.
“As I have said, it is an investment that we have made and it is also nice to be here to ensure that it happens, to give an eye that it happens, and that it happens on time. We are doing something that is unprecedented; we want to build the structure within budget and on time, hence our commitment.
“We do not believe that projects must go on for a long time and never be concluded,” he said.
