The stage is set for the MTN Premier League play-offs at the Mavuso Sports Centre on Saturday.
Lozitha Spurs will take on Tambankulu Celtics in the first match of the much anticipated play-offs.
This newly introduced point system format by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE), which is the first of its kind in Eswatini, marks a bold chapter in local football history, offering an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for one club to get the remaining slot in the elite league.
The high-stakes encounter will start at 12:30pm and will be followed by another intriguing tie between Sidvwashini United and Madlenya FC at 3pm.
The four sides will battle it out over three weeks for the coveted single promotion spot, with the eventual winner joining Manzini Wanderers in the top flight next season.
Wanderers were recently reinstated after lengthy legal battles.
For the teams involved, this play-off is about more than just glory but about survival, redemption, and ambition.
Lozitha Spurs and Tambankulu Celtics are both known for their resilience and tactical discipline.
Celtics finished third in the National First Division, while Lozitha were not far behind, ending the season in fourth position.
In contrast, Madlenya and Sidvwashini United made it to the top flight football after finishing 13th and 14th, respectively. They are now fighting to regain their lost top-tier status.
Madlenya, in particular, are desperate for redemption after a season to forget that saw them rooted at the bottom of the log.
With 16 teams slated to compete in the MTN Premier League next season, only one golden ticket remains.
