In a disappointing turn of events, the much-anticipated Mfowethu uGrend? Men’s Mental Health Camp did not take place.
This was because the organisers cancelled the inaugural event.
According to Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane, despite months of planning and a strong vision, the camp faced poor ticket sales, leading to the difficult decision to postpone and regroup for a future date in 2026.
The organisers released a heartfelt statement expressing gratitude to all confirmed speakers and ticket holders, while assuring that the important initiative would be revived.
Co-founder Gogo Eswatini shared his feelings on the cancellation.

“We are deeply saddened by the postponement, but remain committed to the cause. Men’s mental health is a critical issue in Eswatini and beyond and this camp was designed to open up vital conversations. We thank everyone who supported us and ask for patience as we prepare for a bigger and better event in 2026,” he said.
Fellow co-founder S’lwane added: “Though this setback is disappointing, it does not diminish the importance of what we are trying to achieve. We have already reached out to our ticket holders for refunds and communicated with our speakers. Our vision for a safe, fun and healing space for men remains strong and we will return with renewed energy.”
The organisers emphasised their commitment to creating a healthier, safer and mentally prosperous Eswatini, promising that the camp’s concept would live on and eventually come to fruition.
While the cancellation is a setback for many hopeful participants and supporters, as shared on the released statement’s comment section, people said the spirit behind Mfowethu uGrend? remained alive, as they believe the organisers are determined to learn from this experience and deliver an impactful event in the near future.
