Municipal Council of Mbabane Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gciniwe Fakudze, reflected on the success of the event and shared plans to enhance future celebrations.
She noted the one challenge, which was the weather. “Mbabane weather is like that, it rained several times, but people stayed. That shows the community truly believes in the concept of Mbabane Day,” said Fakudze.

Looking ahead, the CEO revealed a key change for the 2026 calendar.
“We’ve learned that December might not be the best time to host because of the frequent rain. We are considering moving Mbabane Day to spring so that we can enjoy the true essence of good weather.”
“The people of Mbabane definitely got the concept,” she said. “They turned out in their numbers and colourful outfits and they came with the right attitude. It was a beautiful day. The energy was electric as the crowd responded to every performance. I’m sure many enjoyed the food court, the photo booths as they took plenty of pictures to capture the memories. We are really grateful and believe we achieved what we set out to do,” she said.

Fakudze also hinted at exciting additions to the line-up.
“People enjoyed the artists we booked, but next year we want to spotlight young, upcoming talent from our communities. We’re planning a competition and road show leading up to Mbabane Day. The best performers will have the chance to take the stage.”
She added that the event also aimed to showcase Mbabane’s social infrastructure.
“Coronation Park’s beautiful garden was perfect for a picnic, and we want to motivate people to use the park more. The sporting facilities here are excellent, and we encourage the community to come and make use of them. Mbabane Day was about celebrating what we have and inspiring people to live outside their houses and embrace the city,” she said.
With these plans underway, Mbabane Day promises to grow into an even more vibrant and weather-friendly celebration of local culture and community pride.
