Excitement is building among local designers as the much-anticipated Standard Bank Luju Festival draws near.
Known for celebrating African heritage through fashion, food, music and culture, the festival scheduled for August 1-2, has become one of Eswatini’s premier cultural events.
In 2024, it drew over 10 000 attendees and this year’s event promises to be even more vibrant.

Local designers see the Luju Festival as more than just a showcase but a platform for creative expression and professional growth.
With thousands of eyes on their work, the festival presents an invaluable opportunity to gain exposure, connect with potential clients and network with fellow creatives.

Each year, the festival puts out a call for designers eager to participate in the fashion showcase, giving both seasoned and emerging talents a chance to shine.
This tradition has become a highlight on the creative calendar, encouraging innovation and fresh design perspectives from across the country.

Carol Lubelo, a respected veteran in the local fashion scene, expressed her enthusiasm.
“The Luju Festival is a great opportunity. It allows us to reach a wider audience and to show what Swazi designers are capable of. It’s inspiring to see how much talent we have here,” she said.

Wezile Sibandze, another well-known figure in the design community, shared the same sentiments.
“It’s not just about fashion but about culture, identity and storytelling. Every outfit that walks down the runway tells a story about who we are,” he added.
With creativity at the heart of the festival, attendees can look forward to an unforgettable celebration of local style and cultural pride.
