ESWATINI Higher Education Council (ESHEC) has officially released the December 2025 list of registered and accredited local higher education as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
This is part of their teams in safeguarding the quality and credibility of post-secondary education in Eswatini.
According to a statement released by ESHEC yesterday, the updated list is intended to serve as a reliable reference point for prospective students, parents, guardians, employers and other key stakeholders who rely on accurate information to make informed decisions regarding higher education and skills training. ESHEC emphasised that enrollment in duly recognised institutions was central to protecting students’ academic progression, financial investment and long-term career prospects.
In particular, ESHEC has issued clear guidance to Form V pupils who are currently awaiting their examination results. Pupils are urged to plan ahead by carefully selecting institutions that are properly registered and accredited. According to the Council, choosing accredited institutions ensures that qualifications obtained are nationally recognised, credible and accepted by employers and other learning institutions, both locally and internationally.

The Council also extended its advisory to pupils intending to pursue studies outside Eswatini. Such prospective students have been encouraged to verify the accreditation status of foreign institutions with the relevant higher education regulatory authorities in their destination countries before committing to enrollment. ESHEC cautioned that failure to conduct due diligence might result in qualifications that are not recognised, potentially affecting employment opportunities and further studies upon return.
ESHEC further clarified that the published list of registered and accredited institutions should be treated as a live reference document. Institutions and academic programmes are continuously reviewed, added or removed in line with accreditation outcomes, compliance assessments and broader regulatory updates.
As a result, stakeholders are advised to consult the most recent version of the list to ensure they are relying on accurate and up-to-date information.
“The Council is committed to maintaining high standards within the higher education and TVET sectors, noting that accreditation processes are designed to promote quality teaching, adequate infrastructure and learner protection. Through ongoing regulation and public awareness, ESHEC aims to strengthen confidence in Eswatini’s education system and ensure that learners receive value for their investment,” reads the statement.
As the 2026 academic year approaches, ESHEC has called on all stakeholders to play their part by making informed, responsible choices. The Council’s message to the public remains unequivocal: choose wisely, choose quality and above all, choose accredited institutions.
