AWARD-WINNING artist Sjava has extended an exciting invitation to rising star As 4 JerryP for a studio session.

This is a thrilling development for the local music scene as it signals a powerful moment for local talent recognition.
This collaboration comes after As 4 JerryP’s recent release of his single Mlentengamunye, a spiritually and culturally rich track that has been making waves on social media.

As 4 JerryP, a lyrical powerhouse signed under Upscale Live, has earned attention for his distinctive style deeply inspired by the divine traditions of Eswatini.
His song, which beautifully blends spiritual themes with cultural storytelling, resonates with audiences hungry for authentic and meaningful music.

The buzz generated by Mlentengamunye caught the ear of Sjava, a celebrated artist, known for his own impactful contributions to South African music.
After hearing the single, Sjava reached out to Xowla, a record producer and singer-songwriter, with a request to connect with As 4 JerryP. Xowla acted quickly, sharing a screenshot of his message to As 4 JerryP that reads, “Hey brother, please inbox me or reach out, Sjava wants me to get you, I’ll wait on you.”

The simple yet powerful message has set the stage for what promises to be a landmark collaboration.
The Siteki-born artist expressed his eagerness, saying, “I just can’t wait for this moment. These are the kind of big moments I’ve been putting in the work for. I’m dying for this session to happen and from today onwards I don’t think I’ll sleep without thinking about this moment.”
The Director of Upscale Live Sibusiso Simelane, and As 4 JerryP’s manager, emphasised the importance of this connection.

He shared insights about the timeline, noting that Xowla reached out on the July 16 and As 4 JerryP initially missed the message due to the overwhelming interaction on his TikTok account.
Simelane remarked, “This is very big for our movement and the artist. We’ve been waiting for international co-signs for the longest time. We can’t wait to meet the gents when that time comes.”

Sjava has an eye for talent after he also gave a chance to local saxophonist Zwile Bhembe to perform alongside him during last year’s Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival.
This highlights a growing trend where local talent is not only being recognised but championed by established artists.
