SOCCER – Following the Ingwenyama Cup finals postponement, the MTN Premier League will continue with Week 28 tomorrow until Thursday.

Instead of Week 27 which has the high profile big derby between Mbabane Swallows and Mbabane Highlanders, the Premier League of Eswatini has preferred Week 28 take centre stage instead with matches mainly to be played mid-week.

The latest fixture programme, confirmed on Wednesday, sets up eight exciting encounters spread across four days, with clubs battling for crucial points in their respective campaigns.

Action begins tomorrow with an intriguing clash between Royal Leopard and Malanti Chiefs at Ka-Langa Technical Centre, while in-form and Ingwenyama Cup finalists Nsingizini Hotspurs host Sisonkhe at King Sobhuza II Stadium in what is expected to be another entertaining showdown.

Tuesday will see Rangers lock horns with Green Mamba, Nsingizini’s opponents in the epic Ingwenyama Cup final, at King Sobhuza II Stadium. On the same day, Young Buffaloes welcome Amawele at Mayaluka Stadium in another fixture expected to produce fireworks.

The action continues on Wednesday as Tabankulu Celtics host Mbabane Highlanders, while Moneni Pirates square off against Ubombo Sugar under the lights at Mavuso Sports Centre in the only evening fixture of the round. Manzini Sea Birds will also take on Mbabane Swallows at Mhlume’s Nsukuwansuku Stadium.

The curtain closes on Thursday when Ezulwini United face Manzini Wanderers in what could prove crucial for both sides.

Premier League of Eswatini Football Manager Banele Masondo expressed satisfaction with how the season has unfolded, praising both the clubs and supporters for maintaining the high standards of competition.

“We are very pleased with the proceedings so far. The level of football displayed by the teams has been impressive and shows the growth of our game.

“Every week we continue to witness competitive matches, quality performances and commitment from players and technical teams,” said Masondo.

He added that the exciting run-in reflects the league’s competitiveness, with every point now carrying extra weight as clubs push to finish strongly.
