The University of Eswatini (UNESWA) will reopen its Luyengo and Kwaluseni Campuses on Monday following a Senate meeting held yesterday.

UNESWA Vice-Chancellor Professor Justice Thwala confirmed the re-opening.

On that note, the Student Representative Council (SRC) also confirmed that students were expected to return to campus on Sunday to prepare for the resumption of classes the next day.

SRC President Mncobi Mamba said the Senate resolved to reopen the two campuses after weeks of closure due to student protests and ongoing staff disputes.

The SRC also confirmed that examinations had been postponed to January 19, giving students ample time to prepare following the disruption in the academic calendar.

Furthermore, registration for the new semester would be open for one week, and students have been urged to complete all necessary processes within that period.

The university was closed on October 24 following student protests over an array of grievances, including financial and academic concerns.
