Moneni Pirates are confident of claiming an easy win when they face Mbabane Swallows in their upcoming MTN Premier League fixture, describing the encounter as their daily bread.

The bold declaration came from the club’s caretaker coach, Richard Ngcamphalala, during a post-match interview following their nil-all draw against Malanti Chiefs at Mavuso Sports Centre last Saturday.

Ngcamphalala expressed satisfaction with his side’s performance, noting that the team showed marked improvement despite failing to convert crucial chances. “When we came back for the second half, we started creating chances. It is one of those games where we got a lot of chances but failed to score. Otherwise, the boys did very well,” Ngcamphalala said.

He added that with focused, compressed game practice, the team would develop a stronger character and be ready to tackle Swallows effectively.

The Sea Robbers recently parted ways with their head coach, Meck Mwase, with Ngcamphalala stepping in as caretaker. Despite the upheaval, the caretaker coach insists the team was steadily regaining momentum and was confident heading into the clash with Swallows.

Ngcamphalala insisted that building a strong mentality would be key to maintain their winning streak.

“We need to focus on creating chances and finishing them. Our character as a team will make the difference,” he said.

Speaking on national radio yesterday morning, Pirates’ Public Relations Officer (PRO) Meluleki Sluga Simelane, reinforced the team’s confidence, describing the upcoming match against Swallows as a chance to assert dominance over the Mbabane-based side. The PRO hinted that the team morale remains high, especially given the historic record against Swallows.

Swallows, meanwhile, are coached by Pirates’ former head coach Caleb Ngwenya, adding an intriguing twist to the encounter.

The recent head-to-head record heavily favours Pirates. In the last five meetings between the two sides, Pirates have won three times, drawn once, and lost only once, including victories in the last three fixtures.

Swallows have struggled for form recently, going four games without a win. They have drawn twice, against Sisonkhe and Malanti Chiefs, and lost twice, to Ezulwini United and Rangers FC. This poor run adds to Pirates’ confidence, who are eager to extend their dominance in the upcoming fixture.

Pirates’ upcoming clash with Swallows will feature under the MTN PLE Yello Sunday banner.
