Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane has been appointed as the new Mbabane police station commander.

This follows a series of postings and transfers announced by Police National Commissioner (NatCom) Manoma Vusi Masango through a communiqué dated December 19.

A total of 49 officers were transferred and appointed to different departments and workstations around the country.

Ntibane, who is also Sihlangu Semnikati acting head coach, takes over command of the country’s busiest police station from Senior Superintendent Sabelo Dlamini.

Dlamini has been redeployed to Shiselweni Regional Headquarters as the new regional operations officer (ROO), a position previously held by Assistant Commissioner of Police Bhekani Khumalo, now transferred to the Police Academy as head of Basic In-service and Training Division (BITD).

Before his appointment, Ntibane served in the Mbabane Police Station Operations Department coordinating day-to-day policing activities.

His career spans several years within the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) where he gained experience in crime prevention, operations management and station-level leadership.

Outside policing, Ntibane was appointed acting head coach of the national team in October, following the termination of Croatian Zdravko Logarusic’s contract.

Meanwhile, outgoing Commander Sabelo Dlamini brings extensive experience to his new role in Shiselweni. He previously served at several REPS workstations, including Malkerns police station and steadily rose through the ranks. His background in both station command and regional operations is expected to strengthen policing coordination in the region.

The transfers form part of REPS’ major end-of-year redeployment programme aimed at strengthening leadership capacity and improving service delivery nationwide. Several inspectors, sergeants and constables have also been reassigned.

The changes further affect stations in Manzini, Matsapha, Nhlangano, Big Bend, Siphofaneni, Mafutseni, Pigg’s Peak, Lubulini, Hlatikulu and Mbabane.
