This year’s eventual winner will walk away with a prize exceeding E240,000 as first prize money, an improvement compared to last year’s E166,000.

The King said this during the tournament’s gala dinner and sponsorship handover at Lozitha Palace on Friday, noting that the enhanced prize package would motivate golfers to display improved performance.

“The first prize, now exceeding E240,000, is a testament to this ambition, encouraging participation across all ages,” he said.

The monarch further commended efforts to preserve golf courses and expressed anticipation for the reopening of closed facilities, which he said would attract international tournaments and boost the economy.

He highlighted the E600,000 hole-in-one prize as an exciting incentive, even joking that he looked forward to testing his own swing in pursuit of it.

The King also emphasised the importance of professionalising golf in Eswatini, suggesting the establishment of academies or collaborations with neighbouring nations to nurture talent capable of rivalling the world’s best golfers.

This year’s sponsorship package amounts to E3.1 million. Major contributors include:

E600 000 UP FOR GRABS IN KING’S CUP

GOLF – Luphohlo Commodities Managing Director Nathi Van Zuydam has revealed that they will again sponsor the 2025 King’s Golf Cup with a hole-in-one grand prize of E600,000.

This year’s package has increased by E100,000 compared to the last edition, underscoring the growing prestige of the tournament under the patronage of His Majesty King Mswati III.

Van Zuydam confirmed that the prize applies to the 18th hole, making the competition even more thrilling for participants.

“The hole-in-one prize is a stroke of luck for any golfer who can manage a single shot into the 18th hole. Even those who miss eagles and birdies still stand a chance to walk away victorious,” he said.

The MD praised His Majesty’s passion for golf and the tournament’s impact in attracting regional and international attention year after year.

“With His Majesty’s vision, passion and support, the tournament will reach even greater heights. We are proud to continue our sponsorship and pledge support every year,” Van Zuydam added.
