On April 13, the First National Bank of Eswatini (FNB Eswatini) will celebrate its 30th anniversary in service.
FNB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thokozani ‘TK’ Dlamini expressed his excitement and gratitude as he officially launched the festivities surrounding this significant milestone.
FNB Eswatini began its journey in April 1995 and today, it stands as a prominent business listed on the Eswatini Stock Exchange, with local shareholders and a dedicated workforce.
Dlamini highlighted that the bank was proud to serve hundreds of thousands of Emaswati, with 99 per cent of its employees being locals and nearly half of its executive management comprising of female leaders.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my predecessors, their respective governing boards and our shareholders, who laid the groundwork for FNB Eswatini to become the leading institution it is today,” Dlamini remarked, acknowledging the support from regulatory entities and industry bodies that contributed to the bank’s success.
The CEO paid special tribute to employees Cebile Vilakati, who started with the bank in 1995 and continues to play vital roles in its operations.
Dlamini emphasised that their achievements over the years would not have been possible without the hardwork of it’s employees.
“I want to hounor all FNBers, past and present, for their contributions to our mission of providing help to Emaswati.”
He also expressed gratitude to the bank’s customers.
“To our customers who have continuously chosen us as your preferred financial services provider, we deeply cherish this responsibility.
We are honored to have grown with you as you received your first salaries, bought your first cars, financed homes and expanded businesses, even into retirement,” he said.
FNB Eswatini has been at the forefront of banking innovation in the country, introducing products such as the FNB App, eWallet, and the latest Automated Deposit Teller (ADT) machines.
Dlamini assured that this commitment to innovation and help will continue into the future.
“As we look ahead, we are excited about evolving our help beyond traditional banking. We will relentlessly pursue opportunities to make our customers’ lives easier while actively contributing to the development of Eswatini.”
With its head office located in Ezulwini, FNB Eswatini operates 14 branches and maintains a network of over 500 active CashPlus agents.
The bank is committed to championing innovative banking solutions while acting as a responsible corporate citizen.
Dlamini highlighted various initiatives that demonstrated FNB Eswatini’s commitment to local development, including the use of local and suppliers, scored lending for small,medium enterprises (SMEs), and a one per cent profit after tax contribution to the FNB Eswatini Foundation, which supports social impact projects.

He emphasised that as FNB prepares to celebrate this remarkable 30-year journey, it looked forward to continuing to serve and innovate for the nation, reinforcing its legacy as a pillar of support and progress.
