The 30-year Grand Plan aimed at transforming Eswatini into a first-world nation is still in the pipeline.
Stakeholder Engagements Underway
Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli explained that the Office of the Prime Minister is continuing with stakeholder engagements before the plan is finalised. She noted that while it is difficult to provide a timeframe, the Grand Plan will be presented to Cabinet and then to His Majesty King Mswati III for further consultations once engagements are complete.

So far, consultations have involved technocrats, principal secretaries, Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, the private sector and state-owned entities.
Consultants Impress Stakeholders
Mdluli highlighted that stakeholders were impressed by the team of young local experts, some from the diaspora, who are leading the work. Many of them have previously contributed to national strategies for other countries.

Vision from Sibaya
The Grand Plan is a translation of His Majesty’s vision for a developed Eswatini and incorporates submissions made by citizens during the 2023 Sibaya People’s Parliament.
