AS the nation gets ready to celebrate His Majesty King Mswati III’s 58th birthday and 40 years on the throne, Chief Jozane of KaLanga has hailed the king for what he described as a transformative legacy of infrastructure development and international diplomacy.

Speaking exactly three days ahead of the national celebration, the chief said the occasion was not only historic, but deeply personal, noting that he felt privileged to witness such a milestone in the country’s leadership.

“I am happy to be alive to see this moment. It is a time of reflection for the nation and a reminder of how far we have come under His Majesty’s leadership,” he said.

The chief pointed to major infrastructure projects as key indicators of progress, particularly the expansion of the country’s road network and the construction of public facilities that have improved connectivity and access to services.

He emphasised that such developments have had a direct impact on ordinary citizens, especially those in rural areas.

Among the flagship projects he highlighted was the King Mswati III International Airport, describing it as a landmark investment that has significantly elevated the economic prospects of the Lubombo region.

He noted that the airport has not only enhanced the country’s global accessibility but also created opportunities for tourism, trade and employment.

“This was one of the biggest developments for Lubombo. It opened doors that were previously closed and brought new hope for economic growth in the region,” he said.

Beyond transport infrastructure, Chief Jozane also praised the construction of dams across the country, which he said have played a critical role in improving livelihoods. Such water projects have enabled communities to venture into agriculture, ensuring food security while also creating income-generating opportunities.

“Many families are now able to sustain themselves through farming because of these dams. Jobs have been created, and people are now able to provide for their households in ways that were not possible before,” he added.

On the international front, Chief Jozane commended the king for strengthening the country’s diplomatic footprint. He said the monarch’s efforts to build relationships with other nations have positioned the country strategically on the global stage. He further noted that the establishment of embassies in countries where the king has fostered ties ensures that these relationships endure beyond the present generation.

The chief also took a moment to acknowledge the role of Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, expressing gratitude for her support of the king’s vision and leadership.

“We thank Her Majesty for standing beside the king and supporting his vision for the country. Together, they have shown deep commitment to the welfare of the nation,” he said.
