The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maxwell Jele, has travelled to Switzerland to complete the final phase of his Master’s in Executive Sports Management (MEMOS) programme.


EOCGA Marketing and Communications Officer, Mkhulisi Dlamini, confirmed Jele’s departure and expressed the association’s pride in his academic and professional achievements.

“We are confident that the CEO’s dedication and vision will not only secure his success in the MEMOS programme but also inspire a renewed drive to establish sustainable pathways for Eswatini’s athletes on the international stage. His research is crucial in shaping strategies that bring us closer to celebrating the nation’s first Olympic medal,” Dlamini said.

While in Lausanne at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Headquarters, Jele will defend his dissertation, titled ‘The Route to Attaining Eswatini’s First Olympic Medal.’

The project reflects not only his personal academic journey but also the broader ambitions of EOCGA and the national sports movement.

Global Recognition
The MEMOS programme, run by the University of Ottawa in partnership with the IOC, is a prestigious and internationally recognised course designed to equip sports administrators with advanced leadership and management skills.

Jele is part of a cohort of 35 elite sports professionals from across the world, underlining the recognition of Eswatini’s sporting leadership on the global stage.
