SOCCER – ESWATINI Football Association (EFA) has officially opened applications for the vacant Sihlangu Semnikati senior men’s national team head coach position following the departure of Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane.

The association confirmed that interested candidates have until next Friday to submit their applications for the highly demanding role of leading the country’s senior national team.

EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe confirmed that the post has been advertised and that the application process is open to all qualified individuals who meet the requirements set by the association.

Radebe said the association was looking for a capable candidate who can guide the national team forward and restore pride in the country’s football.

“The position is open to everyone who meets the required qualifications and experience. Anyone who feels that he or she is capable of leading the nation’s pride is free to apply for the post,” said Radebe.

The successful candidate will take over a national side that is currently going through a difficult period after recently suffering a painful exit from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Sihlangu Semnikati were eliminated by Eritrea, losing 4–1 on aggregate in a two-legged qualifier played two weeks ago.

The defeat raised concerns among football supporters about the team’s direction and performance on the international stage.

The appointment of a new head coach is therefore expected to play a crucial role in rebuilding the national team and preparing it for upcoming regional and continental competitions.

EFA has urged interested applicants to carefully review the requirements and application procedures available on the association’s official website.

According to the association, full details regarding the vacancy, including qualifications, responsibilities can be accessed online.

Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date to be considered for the prestigious role of leading Sihlangu Semnikati, a team that carries the hopes and pride of the nation.

More information regarding the vacancy can be found on the EFA website.

The new coach will be tasked with rebuilding confidence in the national team and steering local football towards improved performances on the continental stage.
