Former Minister Dr Malusi Gigaba is scheduled to appear at the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crime Court on 30 January 2026 in relation to a matter currently before the courts.
According to his legal representatives, the court appearance is procedural and administrative. It is not a trial, no plea will be entered, and no evidence will be presented on the day.
Dr Gigaba was served with a charge sheet through a J175 summons in early November 2025. An indictment has not yet been issued, and the matter has not been set down for trial.
His legal team said Dr Gigaba would address the matter at the appropriate stage of the legal process, in line with the Constitution and the rule of law.
“Dr Gigaba maintains his innocence and continues to cooperate fully with the legal process. Out of respect for the court, he will not engage in public speculation.
“The matter will be resolved through due process,” reads the statement.
