UMUTHI Fest returns on October 18 with a bigger, bolder, and louder celebration of music at the Mavuso Exhibition Centre.

This year’s edition will see South Africa’s Afro-pop hitmakers Blaq Diamond and Eswatini’s internationally acclaimed DJ and producer, Tendaness, headline the festival.

The event promises an electrifying mix of live performances, DJ sets, and high-energy entertainment that will keep fans dancing all night.

Speaking on the festival’s evolution, Umuthi Fest curator Zulu D said:

“Last year was just the trailer, this year, we are delivering the full blockbuster. We have doubled the effort, doubled the vibe and booked acts that we know the crowd has been longing for.”

Zulu D said Blaq Diamond, under Umuthi Records, are expected to bring their signature Afro-pop sound and chart-topping hits to the Eswatini stage.

“The duo has built a loyal fanbase in the country and is set to deliver a performance that blends smooth melodies with infectious energy,” he shared.

Adding to the excitement is five-time international award-winning DJ and producer Tendaness.

Zulu D shared that Tendaness is known for infusing elements of house, jazz, folk, and electronic music; his sets are immersive journeys.

“When Tendaness confirmed, we literally went crazy,” Zulu D laughed.
“We even found ourselves chanting ‘Tendaness, we wanna party!’ without any music playing. That’s how much energy he brings.”

Zulu D emphasised that Umuthi Fest is more than just a show:

“This festival is about community, music, and creating memories. We want people to walk away with sore feet from dancing, hoarse voices from singing along, and smiles that last for days.”

The 2025 edition also promises improved production, bigger stage setups, and more surprises throughout the night.

“We’ve listened to feedback from last year. This time, everything from sound to lighting is on another level. Every move will be a dance, every conversation will have a rhythm,” Zulu D added.

With its powerhouse lineup, high production value, and vibrant atmosphere, Umuthi Fest 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events on Eswatini’s entertainment calendar.
