The National Gospel Music Awards are gearing up for an unforgettable night tomorrow at the Luke Commission Auditorium in Sidvokodvo, with the Best of Africa awardees set to deliver electrifying performances.
National Gospel Music Awards Chairperson Nathi Mhlanga confirmed the stellar line-up of award-winning gospel artists who will grace the stage.

“We are thrilled to welcome some of the continent’s finest gospel talents, including recent Crown Gospel Music Award winner Nothando Hlophe and 2017 Crown Gospel Music Awards laureate Nduduzo Matse.
Also joining will be Nothando Dlamini, who was honoured as Africa Gospel Artist of the Year at the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards (MGOMA) in 2021 and Sphiwo Ndoni, the Best of Africa Artist of the Year at the MGOMA in 2024,” he said.
Mhlanga said the event promised diversity and dynamism with five main performance categories featuring not only the Best of Africa Award winners, but also nominees for Best Gospel Song of the Year, Best Newcomer Artist of the Year and winners from the Disability Music and Arts Festival. “This mix ensures a vibrant and inspiring night, showcasing a broad spectrum of gospel music talent,” Mhlanga added.

He said the awards would also spotlight acclaimed artists from across Africa, including South Africa’s Sbu Noah and Andile KaMajola, Malawi’s Edson, Cameroon’s Cornel Grace, South Sudan’s Musa John Haroun, Nigeria’s Esther Igbekele and Zimbabwean sensation Everton Mlalazi, alongside local stars such as Gcebile Maseko, Mcinseli Tembe and many more.
The evening kicks off with a gospel power hour, featuring live recordings by upcoming artists, setting the tone for a night filled with passion and praise.
Mhlanga emphasised the significance of the event. “The National Gospel Music Awards not only celebrate excellence, but also uplift and unite the gospel music community across Eswatini and beyond. This year’s event will be a powerful showcase of talent and faith,” he said.
He stated that with 27 winners and five honorary awards, including the esteemed Minister’s Award and Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2025 National Gospel Music Awards were set to be a landmark celebration of gospel music’s vibrant spirit and cultural impact.
Mnqobi, Lerato to host Gold Carpet
The 2025 National Gospel Music Awards are set to sparkle with the exciting announcement of Mnqobi and Lerato as the official Gold Carpet hosts. The dynamic duo will welcome guests and viewers to a night of faith, music and celebration at the Luke Commission Auditorium in Sidvokodvo.
National Gospel Music Awards Spokesperson Nathi Makhabane expressed enthusiasm about the choice. “We are thrilled to announce your Gold Carpet hosts for this year’s Gospel Music Awards. These incredible individuals have been handpicked for their passion, creativity and dedication to uplifting the gospel music community,” he said. “Join us in welcoming Mnqobi and Lerato as they lead us through an unforgettable journey celebrating the power of faith and music.”
Mnqobi shared his excitement about the role. “I’m honoured to be part of the Gold Carpet hosting team. It’s a beautiful moment for me because this platform celebrates excellence, elegance and intentional storytelling and I’m excited to contribute to that experience. People can expect nothing but vibrant energy, warmth and a premium hosting presence on the day. I’ll be bringing charisma, class and that signature Mnqobi touch that makes every guest feel seen, celebrated and truly part of something special,” he said.
Makhabane stated that the evening would kick off with a grand entrance at 4pm, followed by the gospel power hour from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The main awards ceremony goes live at 8pm, promising a star-studded gathering of Eswatini’s gospel elite, celebrities, influencers and nominated artists.
“Fans can look forward to a glamorous and inspiring night, filled with heartfelt moments and unforgettable performances,” said Makhabane.
