ATTORNEY General Sifiso Mashampu Khumalo has paid tribute to His Majesty King Mswati III, commending the monarch for four decades of “visionary and steadfast leadership” that have shaped the country’s development trajectory and preserved its national identity.
Speaking on behalf of the office of the attorney general and the broader legal fraternity, Khumalo extended heartfelt congratulations to the king as the country marks His Majesty’s 58th birthday and 40 years on the throne.
He described the dual celebration as a historic milestone that reflects a reign defined by stability, progress and a deep commitment to the welfare of the citizens.
Khumalo highlighted that under the king’s leadership, the kingdom had maintained peace and stability — key pillars that enabled economic activity and created a conducive environment for both local and foreign investment. He noted that such stability has been critical in positioning the country for sustained growth, even amid global uncertainties.
“His Majesty has guided the nation through periods of transformation and growth, leaving a legacy of tangible achievements that continue to shape our country’s future,” Khumalo said.
He further pointed to the king’s role in safeguarding and promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage, emphasising that tradition remains a cornerstone of national unity.
According to Khumalo, the continued celebration and protection of customs ensures that future generations remain grounded in their identity.

Beyond cultural preservation, the AG credited the king for advancing national development through infrastructure expansion and community-focused initiatives. He singled out programmes aimed at uplifting vulnerable citizens, including the construction of houses for destitute families across the country, as a testament to the king’s compassion and people-centred leadership.
Khumalo said such initiatives demonstrated a leadership style that prioritises dignity and improved living conditions for ordinary citizens, reinforcing the bond between the throne and the people.
“As we mark this historic occasion, we are reminded of His Majesty’s enduring vision, wisdom and service to the nation,” he said.
He further expressed the legal fraternity’s hope that the king would continue to lead with strength, good health and divine guidance in the years ahead.
