Giants Mbabane Swallows will face Premier Soccer League (PSL) side TS Galaxy in a behind-closed-doors practice match on Saturday.
The game will take place at Mbombela Stadium as Swallows intensify their pre-season preparations, which started last Monday. Swallows Public Relations Officer, Knowledge Ngwenya confirmed the practice match.

“We have been invited by TS Galaxy for a friendly match, which will be played behind closed doors. Swallows share a strong relationship with TS Galaxy, particularly with their chairman, Tim Sukazi. The game will provide our coaches with an opportunity to assess the progress of our preparations for the new season,” said Ngwenya.

As reported by our sister publication, the Saturday Observer, the red-and-white glamour side will also hold a pre-season camp in Mozambique at the Lalgy Sports Arena in preparation for the new season. The club will play a series of practice matches against Mozambican teams, including Black Bull.

Lalgy Sports Arena is the same venue where Swallows played their second-leg match against Ferroviário da Beira in the CAF Champions League last season. The stadium is recognised as FIFA standard, offering facilities such as turnstiles, lighting, backup generators, a media centre, changing rooms, a big screen, a quality pitch, toilets, a medical centre and VIP areas.

Recently, Swallows unveiled their new head coach, Dário Monteiro, who has joined on a two-year contract with the option for an additional year.
Meanwhile, the Kingsley Kwakyi contractual saga has been resolved after Nsingizini Hotspurs paid E45 000 for his clearance from Swallows. The tough-tackling Ghana-born defender made headlines in recent weeks after signing for Nsingizini while still under contract with the capital city giants.

As previously reported, Kwakyi received E50 000 as a signing-on fee from the MTN Premier League champions. Sources suggest that Nsingizini have officially apologised to Swallows for unveiling a player who was still contracted to them.
