Police in South Africa shot a Liswati who was found with dagga worth E1.1 million. The 29-year-old man was intercepted by members of the South African Police Service at the Waverley Port of entry, near Mayflower.
It was reported that the police from the neighbouring country were conducting a routine patrol near the borderline at Sandlane when they noticed a suspicious vehicle and stopped it for inspection.
Upon stopping, three occupants of the vehicle reportedly alighted and opened fire at the police while attempting to flee.

The other two managed to escape and are still at large. The injured suspect was transported to hospital for medical intervention.
A search of the suspects’ vehicle led to the discovery of about 166 packets of dagga weighing approximately 190.46kg, with an estimated street value of E1.1 million.
After receiving medical care, the suspect was discharged and taken into custody. A police van was damaged during the gun battle with the alleged dagga dealers.
