Three teachers from the Shiselweni region are set to swap chalkboards for Table Mountain views after winning Eswatini Mobile’s Win a Trip to Cape Town competition — an all-expenses-paid Valentine’s weekend getaway that has already made hearts flutter.

The lucky winner is Nok’lunga Kunene, whose number was picked during a live draw streamed on Eswatini Mobile’s Facebook page on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Kunene was called live on air and immediately expressed shock and joy, revealing that the two people she nominated to travel with her were close family members.

To qualify for entry, customers were required to load E100 or more, dial *279# to nominate two friends or family members, and encourage the nominees to also load E100 or more.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the winning trio arrived at the Eswatini Mobile Headquarters brimming with excitement and disbelief. Kunene was accompanied by her husband, Mathokoza Khumalo, and her sister, Sinothando Kunene. All three are teachers — Kunene and Khumalo are based at Lavumisa Primary School, while Sinothando teaches at Lulakeni High School — making the win even more special for a profession widely regarded as critical to the country’s future.

Speaking in an interview, Kunene said she entered the competition without high expectations.

“Honestly, I didn’t think much of it. I entered because the competition was active and exciting,” she said. “When I received the call, I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked, but I was extremely happy.”

She said the win had given her family something extraordinary to look forward to.

“I am very grateful to Eswatini Mobile for this opportunity. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us,” Kunene said, visibly emotional. “None of us has ever flown before, and none of us has ever been to Cape Town. Everything about this trip will be a first for us.”

Kunene added that spending Valentine’s weekend in Cape Town with her husband and sister made the experience even more meaningful.

“It feels like a dream. We are counting the days already,” she said with a smile.

Eswatini Mobile’s Head of Commercial welcomed and congratulated the winners, saying the company was delighted to see teachers among the beneficiaries of the competition.

She explained that the promotion was inspired by His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of a First World Eswatini.

“The intention behind this competition was to expose emaSwati to a first-world experience,” she said. “As Eswatini Mobile, we are prioritising first-world delivery in our products and services, and we want our customers to experience that standard in all areas of life.”

She added that the company was pleased to fully sponsor the trip.

“This is an all-expenses-paid experience, and we hope the winners will truly enjoy every moment in Cape Town,” she said. “It is also very interesting and encouraging that all the winners are teachers, people who play a crucial role in shaping the future of our country.”

VALENTINE’S DILEMMA SOLVED – HUBBY

Khumalo said Eswatini Mobile saved him from a valentines conundrum.

In a lighter moment, Kunene’s husband, Khumalo, could not hide his relief and excitement, admitting that the win had solved a personal Valentine’s Day challenge.

“I must be honest, I was stressed,” Khumalo said with a laugh. “I didn’t know what I was going to do for my wife this Valentine’s Day.”

He said the trip came at the perfect time.

“Winning this trip through my wife is impeccable. It’s more than I could have planned,” he said. “I would like to sincerely thank Eswatini Mobile for making this possible. This is something we will remember for the rest of our lives.”

As the trio prepares for their first-ever flight and first visit to Cape Town, their story has already captured hearts — a reminder that sometimes dedication in the classroom can be rewarded with unforgettable moments far beyond it.
