“What makes this single a standout is its collaboration with one of Eswatini’s most iconic voices: Nana Magagula,” said Sarnilo.
The legendary singer, best known for her award-winning album ‘Five Loaves and Two Fish;’ makes a triumphant return to the music scene after a hiatus of over 20 years.
Nana’s work has long been celebrated for its timeless blend of jazz, soul, and profound storytelling, making her a cherished figure in the country’s musical landscape.
She stated that the partnership represented a powerful meeting of generations, a heartfelt dialogue that combined youthful energy with seasoned artistry.

“The single was recorded live in the studio, featuring some of Eswatini’s top musicians, including Vuyo Nsibande on keys. Production duties were handled by the acclaimed duo Lethumusa and Brainz, who crafted a sound that is both authentic and contemporary.”
Reflecting on the collaboration, Sarnilo added, “Working with a living legend like Nana Magagula was humbling and inspiring. Her artistry carries a depth that only comes from years of experience and truth. Having her return to music through this song feels like witnessing history in motion.”
The release also serves as a prelude to Sarnilo’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, Makuhwalala, scheduled for release on November 14. She said the upcoming album promised to delve deeper into themes of love, loss, and resilience, continuing Sarnilo’s dedication to soulful storytelling woven with modern African soundscapes.
“Don’t be shy’ is more than just a single, it’s a celebration of musical heritage and innovation, bridging past and present with elegance and emotion. Fans can look forward to an unforgettable listening experience that honours Eswatini’s rich musical tradition while showcasing fresh, contemporary sounds,” she said.
