Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg has urged the nation to report suspected cases of corruption, saying this would help to promote accountability and transparency.
He noted that sometimes there were complaints about corruption in government, where small and medium enterprises (SMEs) paid bribes to get business.

The minister made these remarks during the Finance In Focus session on Friday.
Rijkenberg said if the nation could stand together against corruption, it could be curbed at all levels. He appealed to the public to join the fight, stressing that government could not act on complaints without evidence.
“Our appeal as government to the nation is to give us such information even anonymously. Let us constantly do what we can to make sure we put this terrible animal called corruption to bed,” he said.
The minister further encouraged people to use available platforms to expose wrongdoing.
“You can use social media if you are afraid of doing it physically; it is very easy these days to catch corruption with the invention of technology. Please help us even if you are too scared to bring it to government,” Rijkenberg added.
