‘Pupu’ wants E150 000 signing-on fee to join Bull

Tanzania side Tabora United’s want-away attacking midfielder Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze is reportedly demanding a E150 000 signing-on fee and E30 000 salary to complete a move to Mbabane Highlanders AMFC.
‘Pupu’, who previously played for the capital city giants, is currently embroiled in a dispute with Tabora United over unpaid wages and signing-on bonuses.
Mbabane Highlanders are understood to be seeking experienced attacking options as they aim to restore their former glory.

However, negotiations could stall due to the midfielder’s reported salary demands, which the club considers excessive.
“‘Pupu’ is on Highlanders’ wishlist. In fact, he was meant to travel with the club to Pietermaritzburg. But his demands are high, though Highlanders haven’t lost interest as his case is still under discussion at the top level. You can contact the relevant authorities at the team for an update,” said a club insider.
Mbabane Highlanders’ acting spokesperson, Charles ‘Ace’ Jele, confirmed that Sikhondze’s matter was being handled by the club’s senior management.
“I cannot deny that ‘Pupu’ is a good player, one that any team would want. We are among those teams, and his issue is being dealt with at a higher level,” he said.
The player’s agent, Alimasi ‘Adebayor’ Saleh, could not be reached for comment at the time of compiling this report.
‘Pupu’ recently trained with Green Mamba but failed to agree on terms after the Correctional Services outfit reportedly made a low financial offer.
The player boasts vast experience, having featured in the South African Premier Soccer League for Polokwane City, and in the ABC Motsepe Foundation League for Mbombela United.
