MAYIWANE – Member of Parliament Sicelo Dlamini remains resolute in his fight to secure justice for Miss Eswatini Temvelo Mtsetfwa, who is still waiting to receive the car promised to her as part of her pageant victory.

Despite silence from several quarters, the MP has remained vocal and determined to stand by Mtsetfwa until the matter is fully resolved.

On Sunday, Dlamini took to social media to express his unwavering support, writing:

“When everyone and everything is quiet, I still stand firm in calling for justice for Miss Eswatini. Two years later, she is left alone with no one and nothing in sight. We cannot keep quiet when our own is abused. We call for swift action on this matter. Kutawlunga (it will be well).”

His remarks sparked widespread discussion online, with some members of the public calling for the Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the matter.

Speaking to this publication, Dlamini revealed that he has maintained constant communication with Mtsetfwa, who informed him that she is scheduled to return to court on February 16.

“I want to be there when she finally receives her car. I will fight this issue till the end,” Dlamini said.

Mtsetfwa, when contacted, confirmed the court date but declined to share further details.

“The only information I can give you is we are going back to court on the 16th,” she said.

The issue of the undelivered car was first raised in Parliament in October last year. What was meant to be the ultimate reward for Mtsetfwa’s victory has since evolved into a prolonged legal and public saga.

Last year, Mtsetfwa instituted legal proceedings in the High Court against Kwando Lifestyle Brands and Oukitel Eswatini, accusing the two pageant partners of breaching a written agreement to provide her with a Jaecoo J7 motor vehicle.

According to court papers filed on June 26 last year, the agreement was concluded in November 2024 at Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini. Kwando Lifestyle Brands is cited as the marketing agency and distribution rights holder for Oukitel Eswatini, which hosted the 2024 Miss Eswatini pageant.

The agreement was signed by Mtsetfwa and Mduduzi Shongwe, identified as the managing director and authorised representative of both companies. It stipulated that the vehicle be delivered on or before December 19, 2024.

Mtsetfwa maintains that she fully complied with all her obligations under the agreement, including promotional duties linked to the pageant. Despite this, the vehicle was never delivered.

After months of waiting and what her legal team described as repeated non-compliance, her attorneys issued a formal letter of demand on May 28, 2025, granting the companies 14 days to honour the agreement. The letter was not honoured, prompting Mtsetfwa to approach the High Court for relief.

In her claim, Mtsetfwa is seeking either an order compelling delivery of the vehicle within seven days or damages equivalent to the value of the Jaecoo J7. She is also claiming interest at nine percent per annum and costs of suit, citing financial and reputational inconvenience caused by the prolonged delay.

The matter returned to court yesterday before Judge Ticheme Dlamini, where new developments emerged. Oukitel Eswatini managing director Mduduzi Shongwe, represented by lawyer Martin Dlamini, informed the court that he intends travelling to South Africa to finalise clearance and registration processes for the vehicle.

Shongwe requested a postponement of the matter to February 16, arguing that the administrative processes must be completed before the vehicle can be handed over.

The continued postponements have fuelled public debate and criticism, with many questioning how the main prize at a national pageant could remain outstanding for so long.
