Mozambique is rapidly emerging as a vibrant entertainment hub, offering a dynamic platform for local artists to shine.


The neighbouring country’s growing music scene has attracted top creatives from Eswatini and beyond, creating exciting opportunities for collaboration and exposure.

Multi-award-winning electronic music creator and DJ, !Sooks (born Sukoluhle Dlamini), will headline the much-anticipated BlackAce Show in Maputo on Saturday, at South Beach. The event kicks off at 5pm, with tickets available via www.tabater.co.mz.

Known for his emotive and euphonic cinematic sound, !Sooks will be joined by another Liswati, DJ Cup, who has become a regular favourite in Mozambique’s thriving entertainment circuit. The showcase promises a thrilling line-up of regional talent and electrifying performances.

Also billed to perform are SkyWhite (Mozambique), DJ Habias (Angola), Double Drop, and DJ V.

Speaking about the event, !Sooks said he was excited to return to familiar ground:

“I’m no stranger to Mozambique. I’ve performed there at least five times. My fans can look forward to good music, a few upcoming tunes that I’ll be testing out, and nothing but good vibes.”

!Sooks has previously graced stages such as Poetas D’Alma (2019), Deep Knowledge, Maputo, and The Back Room Deep House Sessions.

The DJ and producer is widely celebrated for his signature Unleash the Wolf event, which ran from 2022 to 2024, blending native drums, synths, and rhythms from Eswatini into world-class house beats. His music journey has seen him perform at global stages, including Rocking the Daisies, MTN Bushfire Festival, Spring Fiesta, We House, Muze Club (Kenya), Deep Town Jozi, and the prestigious Amsterdam Dance Event in the Netherlands.

In 2022, !Sooks was named Ballantine’s True Music Ambassador for the MTN Bushfire Festival.

Another standout example is ZaiMarn, an artist who relocated to Mozambique to advance his career. His collaboration with popular Mozambican DJ Supaman on the track ‘Starring’ (Beber De Graca) highlights the seamless blending of talent across borders. This partnership reflects the thriving creative exchange that Mozambique fosters.

Award-winning DJ Tendaness is another key figure who has made Mozambique his home, captivating audiences at various events and becoming a household name in the country.

Alongside him is Thobile Makhoyane, a globe-trotting artist known for her unique sound and memorable performances, including her recent appearance at the Kuche Quintet event.
