It is now only a matter of time before Mbabane Highlanders officially announce South African businesswoman Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize as their new Managing Director (MD).
This publication exclusively reported last week that some Highlanders patrons were talking to ‘MaMkhize’ over taking over the club, leading to the resignation of former boss Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane, barely six months at the helm. Again,‘MaMkhize’ was impressed by a presentation from the club’s patrons, led by former minister of housing and urban development Mabili Dlamini and Border Restoration committee member Bheka Mabuza have met ‘MaMkhize’. She is now set to join the capital city giants, having been successfully convinced to take the over during a recent meeting in South Africa.

The latest update indicates that the South African business mogul was in the country yesterday to finalise the deal, having arrived earlier in the morning.
It is understood that the Umbumbulu-born entrepreneur, from a village near Amanzimtoti in KwaZulu-Natal, touched down at King Mswati III International Airport before proceeding to Summerfield Botanical Gardens for a crucial meeting with the club’s hierarchy.
According to a source close to the matter, the meeting was highly productive and the new MD could be announced as early as next week, pending the finalisation of a few outstanding details.
