Two women were conned E98 000 in different incidents.
One of the woman reportedly had ambitions to work abroad and had sought services of a travel agent.

The 47-year-old woman of Hlatikulu is said to have requested the agent’s assistance with securing a job in Canada and further have her trip to the foreign country arranged by the travel agent who is based in Mbabane.
Sources said she and the agent started engagements in January when she was made to make payments for services rendered.

It was reported that between January and February, she paid a total of E70 000.
However, it was reported that the said travel agent never honoured his end of the deal, hence the woman ended up reporting the matter to the police.

Incident
In another incident that happened in Manzini, a 34-year-old woman of KaKhoza who had an interest of starting a business selling clothes had her dream shattered when she was swindled E28 000.

She reportedly paid the money to a person who had posed as a seller on Facebook.
Sources said the supposed seller posted on Facebook advertising that she sold bales of clothes from the United Kingdom.

After paying the money with the hope to receive the clothes in exchange, the woman discovered that she had been scammed as the seller did not deliver.

Acting Chief Police Information and Communications Officer, Assistant Superintendent Nosipho Mnguni, confirmed that both cases were reported to the Mbabane and Manzini police.
She said investigations were ongoing and no arrest has been made so far.
