Phesheya Dube, the former Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), has officially been redeployed as Under Secretary (US) – Administration in the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade.
Dube is among 11 senior civil servants who were reassigned in a government reshuffle announced by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Simanga Mamba. The move comes six weeks and four days after Prime Minister Russell Dlamini announced the appointment of four new PSs, including Andreas Dlamini, who replaced Dube in the ICT ministry.

Dube responded to the redeployment with humility, stating:
“When the trumpet has been blown, I have to respond. I will put in effort and work hard. When the employer directs you where to go, you listen.”
Despite moving into a US role, Dube will retain his PS salary of E51,000, in line with constitutional provisions, instead of the standard E46,000 for the US position.

Mamba said the changes take effect immediately and are intended to enhance efficiency and service delivery within the civil service.
