TENSIONS RISE AT MBABANE GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL:
It was a tense scene at Mbabane Government Hospital as both nurses and patients expressed frustration over the ongoing shortage of drugs and medical supplies.
Patients joined the healthcare workers in a show of unity as a committee prepared to deliver grievances to the Ministry of Health.
However, the endless wait finally bore fruit for some patients as healthcare workers resumed their duties in the afternoon.

PM WELCOMES US ENGINEERS BUILDING ESWATINI’S FUTURE
The Prime Minister has officially welcomed a group of 80 volunteers and engineers from the United States who are part of Engineers In Action (EIA) , a development programme that has been operating in Eswatini since 2007.
To date, the EIA has facilitated the construction of vital bridges valued at over E75 million, thanks to international contributions in materials, travel, technical expertise and financial support.
Over the years, the initiative has brought more than 300 students, mentors, and professional engineers to Eswatini, many of whom were present at today’s event.

WHY WAIT FOR DISASTER TO STRIKE?
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office is shifting gears from reaction to readiness. Instead of merely responding to disasters, the goal is to prevent and prepare thus saving lives, time, and resources. This bold new direction is captured in the Disaster Risk Management Bill, 2024, which aims to repeal the outdated Disaster Management Act of 2006. Today, Senators gathered at Hilton Garden Inn for a high-level capacity-building session to unpack the Bill and strengthen Eswatini’s frontline defense against natural disasters. Because when it comes to disasters, prevention isn’t just better than cure; it’s everything.
