FORMER GOVT SPOKEPERSON’S ALLEGED RAPE TRIAL POSTPONED AS HE CHALLENGES SODV ACT:
The trial of former Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo, who is facing an alleged rape charge, has been postponed to September 3, pending finalisation of his matter at the High Court, where Nxumalo is challenging the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV) Act No. 15 of 2018, with the aim to have the legislation declared unlawful.
Nxumalo made a brief appearance this morning before Manzini Principal Magistrate David Khumalo.

Eswatini is launching the Cervical Cancer Elimination Plan 2025 – 2030 at Happy Valley Hotel.

TRAGIC TWIST IN KIDNAPPED BABY SAGA:
The Royal Eswatini Police Service reported in the afternoon that a six months old baby had been kidnapped at Hebron, Ekupheleni by an unknown man.
Hardly an hour later, the police reported that the baby had been, sadly, found deceased. They also reported a dramatic turn in the matter, stating that no unknown man was involved in the child’s disappearance and that a woman was currently being held for questioning by Mbabane Police.
FIVE MORE FACATA SCAMMERS IN THE DOCK:
Five more ‘facata’ scammers have been arrested and slapped with over 200 counts of allegedly defrauding members of the public of their hard-earned money.
The accused appeared before Manzini Principal Magistrate Florence Msibi, where they were remanded in custody until July 23, pending their committal to the High Court.
Two of these accused were out on bail on similar charges prior to their recent arrest.
