Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo has hailed ENACTUS Eswatini as a cornerstone in advancing the kingdom’s economic transformation through youth-led innovation and entrepreneurship.

Speaking during the ENACTUS Eswatini National Competition held in Manzini on Friday, which also marked the global organisation’s 50th anniversary under the theme ‘Generation: Re,’ Minister Khumalo said the event demonstrated the power of the youth in driving real, sustainable change.

“This event is a powerful testament to the entrepreneurial spirit thriving within our youth. You are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the vibrant innovators of today,” he said.

The minister stated that government’s continued financial support of ENACTUS amounting to E5.5 million in subvention to date was a strategic investment in youth-led economic transformation, not a symbolic gesture.
“As His Majesty’s Government, we are steadfastly committed to creating an enabling environment for youth-led enterprises. Through platforms like ENACTUS, we’re seeing tangible progress in our vision for a diversified and innovation-driven economy,” he said.

Khumalo further announced plans to expand financial support for ENACTUS and similar initiatives, affirming the programme’s alignment with national priorities such as the National Development Strategy (NDS), Vision 2022 and broader economic goals.

He encouraged participants to continue thinking globally and acting locally. “You are reimagining how we approach challenges and redefining the future of our nation,” he said.

The minister also had words of encouragement for the team that will represent Eswatini at the ENACTUS World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, this September. “Bring home the glory knowing you carry the hopes of the nation,” he said.
