His Majesty King Mswati III says Africans need to unite in coming up with lasting solutions to the common challenges that their African countries face.
He said each African state had a role to play towards ensuring that the continent achieved Agenda 63: ‘The Africa
we want,’ which is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future, as formulated by the African Union.

His Majesty was speaking at Lozitha Palace where he received three letters of credence from Botswana High Commissioner Dr Sanji Mmasenono Monageng and Rwanda High Commissioner, Colonel (Rtd) Donat Ndamage.
He also received letters of credence from Equatorial Guinea Ambassador, Pedro Ela Nguema Buna.
The king highlighted that African countries, including Eswatini, were faced with the most challenges in health and unemployment.
Therefore, he said the African leaders needed to concert their efforts in addressing these challenges in order to improve living standards of their people in their respective countries.
His Majesty said while each country needed to act towards the attainment of the Agenda 63: ‘The Africa’ we want, it was a known fact that when working alone, they could not achieve much, hence the need to collaborate in order to make the continent better, especially for the younger generation.
As a means towards creating job opportunities for Africans, the king said it was high time that African countries traded among one another.

He noted that usually, most African states traded with other countries outside the continent, but said if trade relations between the African states, each country and by extension the whole continent, would yield improved returns.
“Africa’s population is huge. Therefore, the continent has the potential to great returns if we could trade with each other,” said the king.
He then expressed hope on the two high commissioners and ambassador that they would work hard towards ensuring that their countries and Eswatini overcame their challenges through identifying areas to explore for further cooperation.
His Majesty also pledged support towards the high commissioners and ambassador during their tenure.
Meanwhile, the two high commissioners and ambassador also expressed their willingness and readiness to work with His Majesty’s government towards exploring areas of cooperation between their countries and Eswatini.
The newly-appointed Rwanda High Commissioner, Colonel (Rtd) Donat Ndamage committed to strengthening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on enhancing trade, investment and South–South cooperation between the two African nations.
When presenting his letters of credence to the king, High Commissioner Ndamage noted that ties between the two countries had been reinforced through mutual visits and active engagement at heads-of-state level. He referenced His Majesty’s participation in the inauguration of President Kagame last year, followed by a working visit to Rwanda, describing it as a reflection of Eswatini’s support for Rwanda’s transformation journey.
“I express my firm commitment to strengthen our relations and explore more opportunities for cooperation, including promoting trade and investment between Rwanda and Eswatini,” he asserted.
Likewise, Equatorial Guinea Ambassador, Pedro Ela Nguema Buna, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening relations with Eswatini. “Equatorial Guinea is prepared to explore all avenues and mechanisms that will allow us to enhance these excellent relations for our mutual benefit,” he said.
