The Sebenza Moghuel Foundation hosted the Wonder Woman High Tea emphasising that intentional motherhood goes beyond mere caregiving.

The event was held at Moneni on Saturday, focusing on intentional motherhood and the profound impact it has on shaping future generations.
This empowering event gathered influential icons such as South African actress Sophie Ndaba, reality TV star Thobile MaKhumalo Mseleku, Senator Sylvia Mthethwa, Norma Mngoma and Mbabane Municipal CEO Gciniwe Fakudze who shared their insights on the importance of raising children with purpose and resilience.

The gathering emphasised that motherhood goes beyond mere caregiving; it is about equipping children with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges.

Sophie Ndaba posed a thought-provoking question to the attendees: “Are you equipping your girl child for motherhood?” This inquiry highlighted the necessity of nurturing self-esteem, emotional intelligence and a strong sense of identity in the next generation.

“As a mother you are called a custodian of a human being, how amazing is that,” the actress said, urging women not to take their children lightly and understand that they are raising future leaders hence the importance of grooming them. She further emphasised that women should understand the purpose of events like the ones hosted by Sebenza Moghuel Foundation that was not just about fashion. “Do not put yourself under so much pressure to look good for others and forget that you have a job,” she said.

Speakers at the event reinforced the idea that consistent affection and empathy were vital for inspiring children to pursue their dreams. By modelling resilience and curiosity, mothers can create an environment where their children feel empowered to overcome obstacles. Senator Mthethwa emphasised that celebrating both successes and failures teaches children valuable life lessons, encouraging them to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.

In addition to inspiring speeches, the event facilitated networking among attendees. Women shared their aspirations, exchanged ideas and explored opportunities for personal and professional development. Winile Hlanze Kunene, the mastermind behind the Sebenza Moghuel Foundation, expressed her satisfaction with the event’s success, noting how it addressed various aspects of womanhood.

“Speakers delivered personal and touching messages that inspired lives in a different perspective,” Kunene noted. She said she felt the atmosphere was one of unity, with women supporting one another in their journeys towards self-improvement, spiritually, psychologically, physically and emotionally.

One of the attendees who was attending for the first time Ncobile Mhlongo said that she was really inspired by the message the speakers shared and said she hoped to return for the next edition.
