A teacher stationed at rural Nyakatfo Nazarene Primary School spent only E237 at OK Foods to qualify and win herself a brand-new Nissan Navara worth over E600 000 in the franchise’s Win-A-Car Competition.

An over-the-moon Hilda Gule, accompanied by her husband Mzambia, beamed with joy as she was presented with the white van as her prize. All it took was including a packet of chips in her grocery basket to qualify for the competition, which eventually saw her unveiled as the lucky winner.

The handover ceremony took place at the OK Foods Mbabane branch. The competition forms part of the franchise’s initiative to thank customers for their continued support.

Gule’s first reaction was to thank the Almighty God for being announced the big winner of the day. She said the new vehicle would be a great help as she navigates muddy roads at both her workplace and her home area of Nfonjeni.

“I am grateful to OK for this prize and I will continue supporting their business. I also hope that others, by seeing me driving my new car, will be motivated to support OK Foods,” she said.

OK Foods Director Lincoln Motsa congratulated Gule, expressing hope that the prize would bring happiness to her and her family. He also thanked customers for their consistent support over the years.

“Without our customers, we would not be here. The growth of the business comes from them. This is a big moment for our winner. I actually asked her if she had prayed — she went to sleep without a car and woke up owning one,” he said.

Motsa noted that while other participants won consolation grocery prizes, the car win was a true blessing. He further expressed gratitude to Nissan for delivering the vehicle on time.

“I hope in the coming years we will be handing over prizes at other branches around the country, and not only in Mbabane,” he added.

Mbabane Mayor Thulani Mkhonto thanked OK Foods for giving back to customers, noting that few businesses reward the communities that support them. He expressed hope that the franchise would continue the initiative and expand by opening more outlets nationwide.
