Eswatini continues to shine on the regional entertainment stage as five local actors have joined the cast of eTV’s hit drama Isitha: The Enemy. Maggie Ginindza, Floriano Santos, Sindiswa Gwebu, Mphilisi Shabangu, and Kenneth Maseko were officially bid farewell by Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, who praised their success as a proud moment for the nation.
The actors were selected after a rigorous audition process by South Africa’s Black Brain Pictures. According to producer Sthandiwe Shabangu, the chosen five stood out for their exceptional talent and have already received their scripts ahead of filming.
However, these five are not the first Emaswati to feature on the popular show. CEO of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC), Stanley Dlamini, revealed that actors Hloniphile Sihlongonyane, Jacob Gedlembane Shongwe, and Laurance Sihlongonyane appeared in earlier episodes.
“We are proud to see more Emaswati making their mark in regional productions. This proves the strength and readiness of our creative industry,” said Dlamini, noting the Council’s commitment to promoting local talent on global platforms.
Isitha: The Enemy continues to be one of South Africa’s most-watched dramas, offering a powerful platform for Eswatini’s growing pool of actors.
