MTN Eswatini CEO, Wandile Mtshali has described this year’s MTN Bushfire Festival as a powerful convergence of business, culture and social impact.
He said the event was not just an entertainment spectacle, but a strategic platform for community empowerment and brand alignment.

Mtshali stated that what truly stood out for him at this year’s Bushfire Festival was the incredible sense of unity and purpose that permeated every performance, every conversation and every corner of the festival grounds.
“The energy was electric, people from all walks of life came together to celebrate not just music and art, but also community, sustainability and social impact,” he said.

For MTN, Bushfire was more than just a music and arts festival, it also served as a business opportunity grounded in values.

Mtshali emphasised that the festival aligned directly with MTN’s strategic focus on connecting people and empowering communities.
“Bushfire is more than just a festival to MTN, it is a reflection of our values. It embodies connectivity, diversity and the power of collective action,” he explained.

He said as a brand that believed in doing good while doing business, they viewed Bushfire Festival as a platform that aligned perfectly with their commitment to supporting local talent and driving meaningful change.
This year’s edition once again highlighted its status as a catalyst for business-led development, with a blend of powerful performances, eco-conscious initiatives and inclusive programming that drew thousands to the Malkerns Valley.

It also served as a showcase of how corporate partnerships could bring value beyond the bottom line.
“The organisers once again raised the bar,” Mtshali noted.
He said from the powerful performances to the engaging dialogues and the eco-conscious initiatives, Bushfire Festival 2025 reminded him why it continue to be one of Africa’s most beloved festivals.

“MTN is proud to be part of this journey,” he emphasised.
The company’s long-standing partnership with Bushfire had allowed it to embed itself deeper into the social fabric of the region while advancing its digital and community-focused agenda.

“Our heart for connecting people was reflected so vividly in the festival’s atmosphere. Whether through shared experiences, digital engagement or the simple joy of being together, the spirit of connection was alive and thriving, something we, at MTN are deeply passionate about,”Mtshali said.

With the 2025 edition now in the rearview mirror, Mtshali said MTN Eswatini was already looking ahead, reaffirming its commitment to being a partner in purpose-driven developmen, and ensuring that business continues to play a role in celebrating African excellence and unlocking potential.
