The state funeral for the late former prime minister Prince Mabandla will be held this coming Sunday.

This was confirmed by Chairperson of the Task Team in charge of the arrangements for the late former prime minister’s funeral, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thuli Dladla through a statement yesterday.

Dladla said the memorial service would be held at the New Zakhele Free Evangelical Assemblies auditorium on Saturday, starting at 10am.

She said the former prime minister would then be laid to rest in accordance with the burial customary rites for Emalangeni at Ntfonjeni in the Hhohho region, following a night vigil at KaNdwandwe Umphakatsi.
She said the condolences book was now open at the seputy prime minister’s office for those who might want to share their condolences.

On Monday, Dladla confirmed that the committee was fully involved in the successful repatriation of Prince Mabandla’s remains from neighbouring South Africa, where he passed away on June 28 while undergoing treatment.
Prince Mabandla served as the third prime minister of the country between 1979 and 1983 after he was appointed to the position by King Sobhuza II.
