ESWATINI Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC) has appointed its Chief Technology and Information Officer Fulatsa Zwane-Sibanyoni as acting managing director (MD).
The appointment comes as EPTC continues its search for a substantive MD following the advertisement of the position, which requires a candidate with between 10 and 15 years of executive management and leadership experience. The MD’s role is critical in steering the organisation’s strategic direction and ensuring operational stability in a rapidly evolving telecommunications environment.
Prior to Zwane-Sibanyoni’s appointment, the position was held in an acting capacity by Chief Finance Officer Lungile Nxumalo.
She had stepped into the role following the departure of Themba Khumalo, whose contract ended in August last year. Khumalo had assumed office in August 2021, succeeding Petros Dlamini and served the corporation for five years.
EPTC officially announced Zwane-Sibanyoni’s appointment through its Facebook page yesterday, confirming that she assumed duties on Monday. She brings over 14 years of experience within the Corporation, having served in various strategic and technical roles.

In her new role, Zwane-Sibanyoni will oversee all EPTC operations, with a focus on efficiency, sustainability and alignment with national development goals. Her responsibilities include providing overall administrative and financial oversight, managing the executive committee, and ensuring sound fiscal management through effective budgeting, reporting and auditing processes.
She will also be tasked with maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including Parliament, Cabinet, the ministry of information, communications and technology, the regulator and other industry players.
Additionally, Zwane-Sibanyoni will lead the formulation and implementation of EPTC’s corporate strategy, ensure compliance with government policies, drive employee engagement to meet performance targets and oversee negotiations as well as legal documentation relevant to the corporation’s operations.
Her appointment marks a significant milestone for EPTC as it navigates a leadership transition and continues to position itself as a key player in local’s digital and communications landscape.
