League of Swaziland Churches President Chief Professor Archbishop Samson Hlatjwako says the recent murders is an indication that the country is under demonic attack.

The archbishop said this when reacting to growing incidents of missing children who were later found dead.
Just last week, two children disappeared and were found dead inside a car.

The incident follows another where a five-year-old went missing while at the Pigg’s Peak Police camp and later found dead in a forest and that of a 16-year-old girl of Nyakatfo was found murdered at a forest at Ndzingeni.

Hlatjwako stated that the country was currently under a ‘demonic attack’, which he said was manifested by the unsettling increase in violent incidents, particularly involving children.
He said the deepening crisis of safety and morality in the country was a cause for concern as the nation was known for its rich cultural tapestry and sense of community.

“These occurrences are not merely isolated incidents but symptoms of a broader spiritual sickness troubling the country.
“This is not normal. We are witnessing something far beyond human understanding, and it calls for urgent prayer and divine intervention,” said Hlatjwako. He said traditional beliefs, alongside Christianity, live in the cultural fabric of Eswatini, often leading to a collective understanding of crises as manifestations of spiritual strife. In response to these alarming developments, Hlatjwako said the League of African Churches encouraged communities to come together in prayer and reflection.

“Leaders must take a united stand and dialogue on how to fight not just the physical manifestations of violence, but also the underlying issues that fuel such misery,” he said.
