Mbabane Highlanders winger Thando Dube has been arrested following a fatal stabbing incident at Ka Ben-area under Mkhiweni Inkhundla over the past weekend.

The soccer star made his first court appearance before Manzini Magistrate Sihle Dludlu today.

According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly stabbed one Nkosikhona Gcina Fakudze with a sharp object on his left arm.

When his rights to legal representation were read out to him, the accused stated that he would seek the services of an attorney.

The accused was remanded back into custody and advised to approach the High Court to move his bail application if desirous to do so.

According to sources close to the matter, an argument is said to have broken out between the player and Fakudze while they were at a drinking spot, which allegedly escalated into a violent scuffle.

“All I know is that they were arguing, but we are still unclear about the argument was about. I tried asking around but no one seemed to know what really led up to the scuffle and stabbing,” said the source

The winger is said to have surrendered himself at Mliba police station.
