Eswatini has made history into this year’s International Best Practice Competition (IBPC) through the qualification of Datamatics Eswatini.
Representing Eswatini and Africa, Datamatics Eswatini qualified for the second round of the International Best Practice Competition (IBPC) joining over 100 organisations worldwide.
The company led by Directors Sibusiso Baartjies and Thokozane Ginindza showcased Africa’s excellence to the world, after winning the first round.
Datamatics has not only lifted Eswatini but also carried the African flag high with pride, purpose and innovation. Their story of impact and continuous improvement is one the world needs to hear.
The Regulatory and Quality Infrastructure Development (RQID) unit under the ministry of commerce, Industry and trade nurtured quality excellence and awarded Datamatics during the Eswatini Quality Awards as the winner of the 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EYA).
Baartjies said the Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO) played a pivotal role in exposing them to the Eswatini Quality award and such an international practice competition.
In the first round, he said they were quizzed through a questionnaire they responded to and there was a panel of judges that worked on the responses.
After sailing through round one, he said they will get into the second round which will be virtual, and they were expected to respond to questions posed about the different programs of works they have done, and also have to send proof of the innovations they have.
“IBPC approached us that we should enter the competition as an African country and they promised us a discount on the joining fee, which we were offered indeed. In the first round, they sent a questionnaire which we responded to and there is a panel of judges that work on the questionnaires.
“The second round will be virtual, where we are expected to respond to questions posed about the different programmes of works we have done, and we also have to send proof of the innovations that we have. One of the products we are showcasing is the Information Management System (IMS) that we developed for INMACOM to manage the three member states; Eswatini, Mozambique and South Africa,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO) praised Datamatics Eswatini for what they termed as excellence beyond borders. In a statement, they congratulated Datamatics Eswatini for advancing to round two of the International Best Practice Competition (IBPC).
“Your dedication to quality, innovation and impact is not only lifting Eswatini, but also showcasing Africa’s brilliance on the globe stage, and commitment to excellence continues sto shine on the global stage. This is more than a milestone, it is a national victory. Eswatini to the world, Africa to the world,” reads the statement.
